Volunteer with Learning Development & Success

Our team at LDS also includes student volunteers who help us with programming and staff the Peer Assisted Learning Centre (PAL). Each year we look for motivated upper year students who are looking to support student learning, and make a difference in the lives of their peers.

Ideal candidates for volunteer positions with Learning Development and Success will have:

      • Strong study skills and consistent academic performance
      • Well-developed communication skills (attending, listening, speaking)
      • Good working knowledge of campus resources
      • Problem-solving abilities
      • A strong sense of responsibility (reliable, accountable, dependable)
      • A desire to support other students and contribute to a positive learning community

Our volunteers gain valuable experience and transferable skills that can enhance resumes, and strengthen applications for jobs, professional programs and graduate school.

If you are interested in becoming a Learning Peer or PAL Liaison, we post available positions through the Western Peer Leaders program. Look for Learning Peer or PAL Liaison roles with LDS. The bulk of our hiring begins in February for the following academic year, but positions could be available throughout the year.

If you have any questions about the volunteer experiences offered through LDS, please email us at learning@uwo.ca, or connect with Western Peer Leaders at wpleader@uwo.ca.
